Learning Journey

Kia ora
Here is my basic facts progress for this year. In Term 1 I was working on Stage 5 and I got a score of 29/60. In Term 2, my basic facts score for Stage 5 was 57/60 so my teachers said I was ready for Stage 6. So, I did the Stage 6 test and got 14/45. There is some hard stuff on Stage 6 but I’m lucky because we have some expert kids in Team Moana who can help us

Myths and Legends.

Our theme for this year is: Learn from a myth, become a legend, so we have been analysing stories to see if they are a myth. Here's the first one I did.

Rugby

this week we were doing recount writing.

Rugby                                                                                      Saturday morning I jumped out of my bed and got dressed to go to my rugby game.

It was Ohaeawai vs Moerewa. We had a half hour warm up. I got to Ohaeawai at 9:50am. Bang! They kicked the ball and Mosese got the ball and ran like a charging bull, but then he got tackled. So me and Carlos were bowling the other team over like bombs and Mosese got up and he got the ball and scored. Then the coach said halftime. Finally, Mosese kicked the ball at the beginning of the second half but then a bad thing happened! Mosese jumped up to the sky like a bird, caught the ball, got tackled in the air and landed on a player.

By the end of the rugby game the score was 7-5. We had 5. It was time to have a feed when it was Player of the Day time.

Writing with hooks

This week we were in groups and we had to write sentences about pictures and I chose this one. The whole point was to use hooks.

”Pass the ball quick! Quick!” The Red Stags ran like charging bulls. They passed the ball like they were playing hot potato. The crowd cheered like roaring tigers. The crowd felt relieved that he scored a try.

My Numeracy Knowledge 2.

Hello. We have been doing some maths assessments. Here is my result for Stage 5 place value. numbers.
I got 4/8 of the learning outcomes. I need to work on groupings of 10s in a 3 digit number, groupings to 100, rounding 3 digit numbers to the nearest 10 and groupings of 5 in numbers to 50.

Zebras

Kia Ora,

Today we had an animal onesie day because we are fundraising for the year 1 and 2 zoo trip. Our group dressed up as zebras. Zebras are members of the horse family. They are mammals.
